D & F Party Limited is one of London’s leading wholesalers of party goods, who have been trading since 1960. They have established a strong reputation for providing a high standard of service to all their customers.

Network Communications Group have been the telecommunications provider of choice for D & F Party for many years during which a strong and trustworthy relationship has been established. Previously, we provided D & F Party with an on premise Mitel communication system with SIP trunks, as well as an internet connection.

Now, D & F Party have upgraded to a fully hosted Ericsson LG Cloud Platform with IPECS One Clients, including softphone. The IPECS One feature, will not only future proof their business but enable to allow the customer to fully manage their calls either by mobile or PC from anywhere.

THE NEEDS OF D&F LIMITED.

The services that Network Communications Group had been providing D & F Party met the needs of their business however D & F had plans to adapt and like many organisations wanted to introduce the option of remote working for their team.

The existing system and SIP trunks they were using had the ability to support remote working, but would have required daily programming, and each service they were currently using had individual charges. D & F wanted to be able to see the identity of incoming callers as well as be able to make and take calls on any device, from any location.

In addition, there were other remote working features that they were lacking. One was user presence. This is the ability to see colleagues availability, such as when they are online, offline, in a meeting, and so on. This is important for remote work as it makes it so much easier to check who is available.

Due to years of trusted support and service, D & F turned to Network Communications Group to upgrade their systems to support seamless remote working.

The Solution.

After speaking with the client and understanding their new requirements, we recommended iPECS Cloud, the Ericsson-LG hosted communication platform, alongside iPECS ONE for remote working. iPECS ONE was the perfect solution to provide the features and benefits they required to work from anywhere.

In addition to this, we also upgraded their internet connectivity to the very latest SoGEA to support the seamless running of the cloud platform as well as future proofing their business. SoGEA provides an internet connection which does not require a PSTN phoneline. This is a big advantage, as PSTN (copper) lines are being switched off nationwide.

  • Full call handling, and the ability to make, receive and transfer calls even on-the-go on any device.
  • A live, automatically updated presence setting. This shows colleagues’ availability in real time, making it a great option for remote working. Regardless of where they are working, you can see which colleagues are free.
  • Using the extension on a mobile smartphone or laptop so their business number can be presented regardless of where the call is made from.
  • The cloud platform requires no programming for remote workers, allowing their team to work from anywhere.

iPECS ONE not only allowed D & F Party to implement remote working for their team but also consolidated their charges, creating a simple, single monthly payment with no upfront costs. Upgrading to hosted cloud offered a reduction in their costs, making the decision to upgrade compelling.

INSTALLATION.

We ensured the installation process from start to finish was stress free and faultless. Once D & F were happy with the solution we offered, their assigned Project Manager took care of the entire migration process, ensuring all stakeholders were updated at every stage.

The installation process was smooth and seamless, resulting in no downtime or issues for the customer. Part of the installation process is ensuring the customer is comfortable with the new solution. We invested many valuable hours into training D & F staff to make sure they felt confident with the changes that came with the new hosted cloud platform.
